Today was EPIC! Jamie Chanel went 16'6 in WOB. She threw that thing like it was her JOB!

I can't say enough great things about this event. SO.MUCH.FUN.

My thanks to the Masterminds of the event; Duncan, Mark and Scott!   Hats off to the crew that made it run so smoothly - Casey, Catharine, Gary... and all the other behind the scenes whos names I don't know!  A very big thank you to the judges Drew and Perry!

I haven't had that much fun in a weekend in a long time.  20 women competing on the day was a blast, and it was really nice to meet so many women throwers from all over the US and Canada (yay Karyn, good to see you again!!).  Lots of new faces to names.

I was one of the very lucky winners of a new Jason Clevengers sheaf.  Great swag and awards all around.

I am already excited for next year!  Can't wait!

I really enjoyed the Texas hospitality that we received from Mark Cannon and Duncan McCallum and their amazing crew this weekend.

Loved the team concept- It really pushed us to get the best marks we could to help our team along.

I especially wanted to mention how impressed with Jamie Channel I was this weekend.  Her WOB was amazing to watch as were her weight for distance monster throws!

I feel very blessed to have met some amazing women.

Already looking forward to next year!

Nobody needs a smile as much as the person who fails to give one. =) Melanie

A few days before the deadline for the application for this event, I was still unsure if I'd be able to go. Man, I'm glad I did.

What a fantastic weekend! Despite some small inevitable snafus that come with a first go-around, the games were well-run, efficient, and an absolute blast. Lots of great prizes, great hotel, and fun times with the ladies after the event. Super stoked that I got to meet everyone!

There was a great deal of effort put into these games, and the smiles on the faces of all the ladies at the end of the day reflects this hard work.

Thanks to all the organizers, helpers, markers, jusdges, scorekeepers and participants for a great time and a great competition.

My highlight of the event: Jamie Channel preparing to "throwing in Spanish". Apparently it worked!

Can't wait for next year.

This event was awesome and totally worth the trip! I give a round of
applause to the folks that made this happen, the swag was fantastic,
the field was great, and the awards rocked! [=D Highland games has
always been seen as a "man" sport, having 20 women occupied the
field brought a much needed sense of legitimacy to womens heavy
athletics. It was an honor to share the field with such wonderful
women and be a part of the inaugural womens team challenge!!
I will definitely be there next year!

Thank you, thank you, thank you to EVERYONE that helped design and execute these games!  I had so much fun and was glad to finish the season on such a high note!  Of course, being a part of the winning team didn't hurt either... hehe!
This was my first year throwing and you all can bet that I'm not going anywhere for awhile!  I'm completely hooked and getting to meet other ladies from across the country (and Canada) has just fueled this flame that much more!
I will be back next year, for sure!!

Thanks everyone for the encouraging words! Who knew that being able to
throw bilingually would come in so handy?!

All jokes aside, I appreciate the hard work and effort that were put into these
games! It was a definite success. Thanks for allowing me to throw in a field
of 20 AMAZING women! They were able to push me farther than even I knew
I could go. I can't count how many women had PR's this weekend. I am
proud to have been a part of these games!!

The after games party wasn't all that bad either! ;)

A huge thank you to Duncan and Catherine, Mark and Casey, Greg and Scott and the rest of the folks who helped out all day long. Thank you to Drew and Perry for a great day of judging!

It would not have been possible without all of the planning and hard work that went in to pulling this off. It was AWESOME!!!!! To be on the field with so many women throwers was just EPIC. Still riding the high from Saturday!!!! So many big throws, PR's all over the place, and the best ladies you'd ever want to meet, or throw with, hands down

Thank you to Mr. Cleavenger, the sheaf bags you made rocked Thank you to Mr. Irvin for the wicked sheaf forks

Can hardly wait to do this again next year. For the ladies that didn't get to make it this year, we missed you, and look forward to throwing with you next time!!!!!

Actually heard from some spectators on Sunday that they 'would have liked to have seen the women's competition' on Sat.

Just sayin.  Great throws ladies!!  Ya'll worked very hard for those PR's.

The team games were AWESOME!!!! Throwing with a field of
ladies from all over North America was amazing.
Definitely looking forward to it again next year.

Much thanks to all the work by the TCAA crew and
especially to the Dictator for dreaming up this thing and
making it happen. I know Irish, Casey, Duncan,
Katherine, Scott, Greg, and B put in countless hours to
pull everything together. Also thanks to Drew and Perry
for being our judges.

Most of all, I'm so thrilled that all of the ladies came
down to TX to throw in this team challenge!!!!! Let's do
it again!

Note to self- next year take the day after I get home off work!! The fun hangover is still going :-) I'm still trying to Facebook everyone and every group so I can keep up with them.

The Texas Team Challenge was FABULOUS!! Thanks to EVERYONE for all the hard work putting this thing on. I can't wait till next year! The weather was great, the teams were awesome, and the ladies made the whole thing over the top!

Maybe next time a harder caber? LOL! What I'd really like to see next time is some way to see how the other teams are doing... I know I throw better when I have someone above me to reach for.

We would like to thank everyone for the kind words. It was a pleasure meeting all the ladies and watching them throw.

Buffy, I hear what your saying but I actually was told that some people would like to have seen the guys on Saturday, oh well we can't please everyone.

I would like to thank the ladies who traveled so far to come to our games. I am very happy that the ladies showed up in force and hopefully had a good time.
I would also like to thank our volunteers, judges and our sponsors.

Strongman Promotions Shirts and bags
Jason Clevanger Sheafs
Bobby Dodd Hammer awards
Jonathan Irvin Forks
Gandolfo's Deli lunch
My Fit Foods breakfast and lunch

I hope everyone had a great time and we look forward to seeing everyone next year.
Please remember we will also be hosting North Texas Kick-Off Games, which will be held February 25th 2012.
We will be contesting A-B-C-Masters-Women-190(maybe).
Entry forms will be sent out around the first of the year. If you would like to be added to the entry form, please send me an email so I can add you to my list.
