Thought it might help my training progress by starting a training log here.  I started writing stuff down back Jan.  so I will do a little catch up. 
 
Back in Jan.  I started a well known program for gaining strength and weight called "Super Squats".
 
Jan.24th Body Weight 286.6 lbs
Bench Press- 135x12x2, Back Squats- 225x20, Light pullovers-45x20(more of a stretch to open up the ribcage a bit), Bent over rows- 135x15x2.
 
Jan.26th Body Weight 292 lbs
Bench- 140x12x2, Back Squats- 230x20, Pullovers- 45x20, Deadlifts- 140x15x2.
 
Jan.28th Throwing- Stones and WFD.
 
Jan.31st Body Weight 290.6 lbs
Bench- 145x12x2, Back Squats- 235x20, Pullovers- 45x20, Bentover rows(curl grip)- 140x15x2
 
Feb.2nd Body Weight 293 lbs
Bench- 150x12x2, Back Squats- 240x20, Pullovers- 45x20, Strict Shoulder Press(My ceiling is too low to do push press over head!)- 45x15x3.....wow shoulders are weak....needs more work!
 
Feb.9th Body weight 296.8 lbs
Bench- 155x12x2, Back Squats- 245x20, Pullovers- 50x20, Shoudler Press- 50x15x3, Deadlifts- 145x15x2.
 
Feb.12th Throwing- Stones, WFD, Hammers
 
Feb.14th Body Weight 294 lbs
Bench-160x12x2, Back Squats- 250x20, Pullovers- 55x20, Shoulder Press- 55x15x3, Deadlifts- 150x15x2.
 
Feb 20th Body Weight 294lbs
Bench- 165x12x2, Back Squats- 255x20(starting to get a little tougher), Pullovers- 45x20, Shoulder Press- 65x12x3, Deadlifts- 135x5, 225x5, 315x5, 335x5, 405x2.....spent!
 
Feb.22nd Body Weight 296lbs
Hang Cleans- 135x5x5, Back squats- 260x20, Pullovers- 45x20, Shoulder Press- 75x12x3, Bench- 170x12x2.
 
Decided to start doing 2 speed/power workouts and 1 heavy day per week aswell as throwing twice a week.  First games is in May.
 
Feb 26th. Throwing- Stones and WFD( cut short by blizzard!)  Also feel like crap...stupid cold!
 
Mar. 3rd.  Body Weight 289 lbs Speed/Power day!
Bent over rows- Barx10, 135x10, 150x10, 175x10, 225x10,  Front Squats- Barx10, 135x10, 225x10,  Pullovers- Barx15x2,  Shoulder Press- Barx10, 65x10, 75x10,  Bench- Barx10, 135x10, 145x10, 150x10, 155x10.
 
Mar.4th Throwing- Stones, WFD, Hammers
 
Mar.6th 295lbs Speed/Power
T Handle Swings(Core Blasters)-  70x10x3, Deadlifts- Barx5, 135x5, 225x2, 315x2x5,  Front Squats- Barx5, 135x5, 185x2, 225x2x5,  Pullovers- Barx10x3,  Shoulder Press- Barx5, 65x5, 85x2, 95x2, 135x2,  Bench- Barx5, 135x5, 150x2, 160x2, 185x2x5.
 
Mar.8th 293.5lbs Heavy Day!
T Handle Swings- 70x10x3,  Hang Cleans- Barx10, 135x5, 155x5, 175x5x3(Last one only did 4),  Back Squats- Barx10, 265x20,  Pullovers- 45x20,  Bench- Barx10, 135x5, 170x5, 185x5, 225x5x2.
 
Sorry for the huge post......now that I am up to date they wil be short and sweet...promise!

Bent over Rows(one end of a barbell...dont have dumbells!)(each arm)-Barx10, 90x5, 100x5, 110x5, 115x2x5.

Shoulder press- Barx10, 65x10, 85x5, 95x5, 135x2x3

Now off to go swimming with the kids and maybe soak in the hottub for a bit!

Mar 15th Heavy Day(quickly becoming my favorite day of the week!)  Body weight 294 lbs.
 
T-Handle swings-70x10x3
Good Mornings-Barx10, 135x10, 185x5, 225x5...First time doing these....not sure about the technique...need to do some research.
Back Squats-225x10, 270x20 These 20 reps sets are getting tough(keep adding 5 lbs a week)
Pullovers- Barx20
Bench- Barx10, 135x10, 185x5, 225x5, 230x5

Got a chance to workout with two very good friends tonight.  Matt Hilton(Crossfitter)- Founder of Constantly Varied Apparel.....my one and only sponsor so far!  Ian Diack-  Powerlifter and fellow Highland Games Thrower.  Little bit of everything all lifting heavy stuff!
 
Did nothing but the big three tonight!

Thanks Ray.....405 was tough....got all the way down but didnt have the gas to go back up.  Need to focus on deep full squats so I am better at the drive from the bottom.  Tend to cheat a bit when I am working out on my own I guess.  We will do again in a few months...you should come out and lift with us.

April 8th
Took a week off.....icthing to get back at it.  6 weeks till season opener! Time to kick it into high gear!
Was camping with the fam this weekend so wasnt expecting to be able to throw but we got home in time so throw I did!
Stones- standing-39'
            MSA-43' (think I will stick with MSA for now.)
LWFD- Standing- 40'
           1 spin- 55'
           2 spin- 58' (was pretty gassed at this point...too much drinking and staying up late around the campfire the night before!)
 
Light Hammer- no measure- winds to warm up, 5 or 6 full throws
 
Ray brought the practice caber to the field but neither of us had the energy....next week!

Single Leg jumps
 
All felt good and ended up doing more than I expected!

Didnt get to lift much this past week.  Things are very busy around here right now.  Despite being sick....again.....I forced myself to get out and throw today.(Only 3 weeks left to Comox and Vic Games).
I am glad I did....had a really good session.
