I just moved back to the La Crosse area and am interested in getting started with the games. I was a thrower in college and would like to continue to throw heavy things. I'm looking for someone to practice with and maybe get some pointers.

You've got a fair number of ppl in your area.  Brain Smasher & Northsider are LaCrossers.  Roslik & myself are Madison.  There are a few Twin Cities way.  Send me your email, & I'll keep you posted of any weekend practice sessions.

Well, certainly deserving of more pity, at any rate.

I tell you clowns about Madison practices.  It's just that you ludites don't check your email more than once a month & never get the message in time.

Here's a pointer:  Find a better city.

You're welcome in Madison anytime.  My pops is up in Lake City so I'm through there a bit.

That IS a good idea.  You guys have obviously been on the same weight training program and it's done wonders for you.  You have those long, lean muscles that always wanted.  Make sure she puts you on her bulking program before she leaves, though.

Sure, sure.  With throwing I'l take what I can get.  But at least I can:

1.  Talk on the phone without space age Bluetooth accessories, heavy breathing, and a lot of sweat.

2.  Put my pants on without a running start.

With Bob "Relaxed Fit" isn't just a garment.  It's a life-style.  Relaxed Fit car, Relaxed Fit floor, Relaxed Fit toilet, etc.

Wow! Roslick is a little "salty" in the new year.  You guys better bring your "A" games this year.

Nancy,

It's, if you haven't noticed, winter.  It is fairly difficult to do the games in January.

You could, say, train with Luke and Wade, but bench press and beer is just as easy to get at home.  PM me, or any of these fellas come the end of February.  We usually try to get something together in that timeframe.

Make sure to eat a lot.  You're gonna need some thick skin.

Josh

Don't worry everybody, we've got Vids training with us in LaCrosse... and he's already good at hammers!  We obviously had nothing to do with that but its still awesome.  Can't wait to unleash another LaCrosse thrower on the world, can you say athlete farm?

Cool.  Here is a little diagram of the LaCrosse boys teaching the hammer throw.

You start with one of these:

Figure A:

And then they add one of these:

Figure B.

And there you have it.  Feces Flinging Fun for the whole Family!
