I am interested in getting started in the games and would eventually like to compete just wondering if any one has a website or information on events training and how to do them or if there is a place around SE Minnesota that would be of benefit.

Our site is moderately helpful.  I haven't updated the regional calendar yet, but the links page ought to yield plenty of good info.  We do have a game coming up in Lake City, MN on 26 Jul, & we're trying to get one going in the Madison, WI area for mid/late Apr.  We'll also be running 3 games in the Rockford, IL area.  If you find yourself down this way & would like to practice, give us a ring.

Another resource would be a fella on this board named McSanta, because IA is absolutely prolific with throwing opportunities.  Here's the link for the Quad City Games held in late Aug.

SE Minnesota? Where abouts? There is a growing gang of us in La Crosse. Once the weather gets better, we practice a lot. Just let me know.

Bristol isn't happening anymore because it ceased to be a mutually beneficial arrangement.

Don't get excited about the mid/late Apr yet.  I'm still trying to get confirmations from possible venues.  If it does turn out to be a go, tho, it'll be the 19th.

The closest thrower in Iowa is Zach Brown who is in Cedar Falls area.  If you would like contact info, PM me.  Zach has two or three guys now throwing with him up in Cedar Falls.

A webpage listing games in and around Iowa and thus close to you can be found at:

http://iowahighlandgames.googlepages.com/

Earliest event in Iowa is the April 28, a small informer backyard games/picnic.  You may want to consider road trip and just give it a try.

Zach's good people, but a bit of a luddite.  Definitely use the phone.  If you can make the picnic, I say do it.  It's a fun time with a lot of good throwers.  And I show up too.

luddite?!? interesting choice of words!

Do you have a word-of-the-day sent to you and a goal to expand your vocabulary by working that word into a post or conversation??? OR where you reading 18th centry english history, specifically history of Leicestershire OR was it history of workers revolt OR history of the knitting industry?  ..... You do make your own kilt, one could easily start a believable rummor that you also knit when you throw words like that around!?

luddite - so is the use because he oppose tecnology as in his wife does the emailing? or that he oppose change period?

and btw, "when did Zach get strong?"

LOL.  Nah, I just pick these things up.  I do it to make Clev's life insufferable.

I was referring to the emailing, btw.  I sent them some very important articles from the Zombie World News and never got a response back.  I thought for sure they had been got, but then I saw them at QC.  Some ppl, huh?

The thing about Roslcik is how much he reminds me of college mascot.  For the lil cheerleader to put on the costume the head of the costume (think Bucky Badger) has to be huge.  It is like there is a regular person in a Roslick costume.

I used the word "pedantic" in a meeting and with a class I teach.  used the word about 20 x's in your honor.  Kids and coaches gave me a deer in headlight look.

1.  Slex:  We throw a Lake City games...gonna be there?
2.  I vouche for none of these dorks.
3.  Dennis is a word stealer.
4.  Northsider stabbed himself with a sheaf.  Northsider wears ankle socks.  Northsider gets pumped up by Tears for Fears.
5.  Terry Smith looks like the "before" picture in every diet/supplement ad.   The Jerod before he found Subway and got all ripped.
6.  Home sales went up in Madison the month we moved into town.  Coincidence?  I think not.  I AM urban renewal.
7.  They have mascots at a clown college?
8.  Luddite.  Apparently 2 syllables is a "big word" to you dim bulbs.  Who knew?
9.  Zach is still not strong.  His wife knows how to email, though.

I am no such thing.  I am a word user.  Just because your species recently discovered language is doesn't mean you have sole domain on every cognizant phonation to erupt from your slavering maw.

I should be there.....

You must be living the life... Dennis close and Clevenger only 1.5 hours away.  The deliverer of the cercal is close also.

Make sure you put the second weekend of August on the no wedding, baby shower, brisk, or party at Build-a-Bear.  For Lacrosse.

Well I am sure you need to get dressed for you and Dennis to have a double date at Fuddruckers

Zach is not strong and I didn't get mentioned on the list! Where is the love?

BTW, C.H.U.D. are definitely in the luddite column and I have wittnessed C.H.U.D. like behavior in buffett lines after several games.
