I had this book for a couple years and finally sat down and got a 16week program out of it.

Complete book of throws. By Jay Silvester

The initial endurance phase called for finding a max in 6 lifts over a 2 week period. I upped this to 4 weeks.

lbs.

Bench Press: 265
Back Squat: 300
Clean: 215

Incline Press: 225
Front Squat: 240
Snatch: 135

These numbers where found after a 3 month lay off from everything,
90 to 100 % 1 rep max.

I will be working these lifts in the gym, while mixing in event specific movements and plyo's.

After 4 weeks of endurance training and a 1 week rest It was time to test again.

BP 325 Life time best.
BS 385 Life time best.
Clean 255 Life time best

IP 275 Life time best
FS 295 Life time best
Snatch 155 Life time best

I know these seem a bit inflated or at least I think so, but thinking back I have never really pushed myself in the gym, working out alone kind of scares me to max and push hard. I had a buddy spotting me yesterday. So the worry factor was out.

Next is a 5 week strength phase, focusing on lower reps and higher weight. I will now be using these numbers above as my one rep max report back as I progress.

3 lifts today

BP 227  3 x 6 70% of max

BS 269 3 x 6 70% of max

C 204 3 x 3 80% of max

BP was fine, BS got heavy fast, and Cleans where tough tough.

Atoka's pride with a training log. Is your weight room made out of pallets?  Looks good though bud.
If you don't have time to do it right, when are you going to have time to do it over?

3 lifts again tonight with some event specific drills.

IP 192 3 x 6 70% of max ........ felt good all the way through

FS 206 3 x 6 70% of max...... can suck it.

S 124 3 x 3 80% of max.... weird after watching the video.

Im going to re test snatch in a week, watched Quint and Spencers snatch grip/tech. I tried it tonight and lightly hyper'd my left elbow, the barbell got light real fast and I was not ready for it, almost threw it over my shoulders.

Thx guys.

Black on black, closely shaved noggin and a highland games genius.  Damn I want to be John Irvin some times. Looking good man.

Do yourself a favor and don't take Oly lifting technique from those guys.
