Hi folks,

Another Peanut question.

I reached a major milestone. I got a 45 lb kettle weight, watched the weight for height section of the highland games training video, and was able to get it up over my head for a good toss(9-10 ft)and could repeat it a few times.

To be quite honest I was surprised at being able to do that. I'm not a former offensive lineman or track and field athlete. I'm a 205 lb 56 yr old so please don't laugh at my toss too much.

My question is where can I find out what distances and heights are novice masters are actually throwing?

Don't really think ibe ever seen a novice masters class. I think you're being a bit too analytical..just go throw, compete get a base set of numbers go to next games aim to beat last games numbers ....repeat as often as possible

Almost certainly right. Too analytical, like most scientists. Yes, I'm a nerd. A nerd in a kilt who wants to toss heavy things around.

In our area there are two events open to novices, one in June and the other in September.

I'll be doing the one in September.

First games ever in NJ hit 11-6 with left hand( was recovering from torn bicep surgery) hit 12 later that season righty..eventually topped out at 15-3 w/ the 56 before becoming a master throwing the 42 which I topped out at 18-3
