In an effort to ensure that Pleasanton stays current and moves smoothly into the next decade I’d like to announce these changes:
·
Equality
between men and women pro and amateur athletes ·
Equality
between all levels of amateur classes What to
expect: ·
6
total athletes per class including pro men and women ·
5
total groups of athletes, 12 athletes per group ·
The
5 groups will be as follows - Pro men and women , Men’s and Women’s A class,
Men’s 40-49 and Men’s 50-59 Masters classes, Women’s 40-49 and 50-59 Masters
classes, Men’s 60+ and Women’s 60+ Masters classes ·
Pro
men and women will be compensated equally to include prize monies, full travel
arrangements and hotel accommodations. ·
All
amateur participants receive some compensation Our goal is
to facilitate a safer games by having less athletes on the field and also at
the same to make this event as competitive as possible. We run on an extremely
tight timetable and it has become increasingly difficult on our judges,
officials and volunteers to meet that expectation. Selections
will be by invitation using the NASGA ranking boards only as a guideline , we
don’t think that the rankings are reliable enough, especially for the top (pro)
level women. We also plan on using our many years of games experience to
hopefully produce an extremely competitive competition with top athletes in all
the classes. ·
Note
to the elite level women – you can apply for either the pro class or the
amateur A class but not both, if you’re not accepted in the pro class you won’t
be automatically shifted down to the amateur A class. Entry forms
will start going out in May, if you believe you should be considered please
contact myself at shajudge@aol.com or my co-chairman Tom Kincaid at thekinc@comcast.net Thank you, Steve Conway CCSF Athletic Chairman |

So 12 pros, 12 amateurs, 0 lightweights, and 36 masters. Why it's the very definition of equality. And in a special note to the elite women they and they alone are told that they can be either a pro or an A at their discretion. You must have left out that same note to the men. You know, equality and all.
