Don, when you do deads with chains, where do you put the chains? I did my first dead session with chains yesterday and never thought about the fact that if you put the chains on the inside, the plates sit on top of them and are awkward. I ended up putting mine between 2 clamps on the outter end of the bar. |

MM-I bought a set of heavy duty velcor straps ( home depot) with a large clip at the end so you can double loop the 5/8" chains. I set them at the very end of the bar ( hub?). They start to engage right at the break off the ground and are at full length at lockout. I use 3 lengths of 5' on each side, which with 405 is ok, once into 500 w/ the chains the plates start hitting the chains-gets ugly trying to reset the bar. The straps are very convient -I'll get the name/brand next time I hit the basement and PM you. |

Talked to the Stewart this morning. He sounds good but needs a new
shoulder. Anybody got an extra lying around? Looks like this is now the Mr. Natural training log, unless lil' Red gets his act together. 7/17 BW: 262# Wide grip DLs: up to 315# for sets of six Clean and PP: 225# five sets of three 1st time back with the weights since before baby #2 was born. In twelve days I've managed to lose all that weight I worked to put on over the spring. |

Monday Night, Tues morning, Wed morning, Friday night: open stone
putting. A little bit of hammer throwing. 7/16 Snatch grip highpulls up to 225 - fast 3 x 3, 2 x 2, front squats up to 315 for fast single. For some reason thought it would be fun to fail with a beltless 365 front squat. Thank you power rack... push press up to 225 x 3 then full court, full speed dribbling, down and back while shooting lay- ups like I was #23 M. J. |

Wed afternoon
weight throws for distance - light and heavy. Working on trying to let the weight pass my hips before beginning my first turn. Don't know if I like it... afterwards: hang snatches up to 205 and push press up to a 275 fail...guess you need to practice those to keep ones pr of 300 up... |
