Today's training is for Jacob Hall...a little guy gone too soon. Wanted to grow up to be a superhero to help people who couldn't help themselves.

Heroes, super or otherwise, don't only help...they inspire. They are selfless and courageous, and their example can move the willing to be extraordinary.

In that way, you already are a hero Jacob. We never met, but I already miss you.

Today, we are in this together.

Made it through the deload... haven't posted. Really need to get back on it.

Lots of squats and deads. All kinds of agility work.

Been cutting the BF significantly... don't have Mule abs yet...but what I do have is a 54" two-handed sword on it's way.

And probably...maybe...a duel at the end of November. I only give up 60 pounds to this fella...

What's the worst that could happen???

Ran 45 minutes in a sweat suit.

Deload continues.

Long run this morning...5.1 miles. Not going for time, just to go.

OHP. Anyone else ever have real forearm pain whilst doing this?

Everything else going well... pull-upsare coming along. Slow and steady trying not to kip.

The road goes ever on and on...

Pull-ups
7-6-5-6-7..last set was trash.

Early early...0405
Bench, boxing, and a sprint or two
Bar x 125
95 x 55
135 x 30
185 x 25
205 x 25
225 x 15
255 x 10
275 x 8...yowzers...musskels getting tight.
STRETCH BREAK!
295 x 8...wanted 10...got pinned and then pantsed myself wiggling out from under the bar. Yeah...so that happened.
295 x 3...because reasons
315 x 5...this was easy. I tore my right pec years ago and never had it repaired. Looks terrible. Once I get into the 3's I cut the reps WAYYYYY back. Little tight this morning so I stopped here. Whatever.

Turned on Leonard v. Hearns for close grip bench press and dips. Because nothing says "You got nothing for me" like pushing someone around the lists.

225x10x8

Dips

Triceps have had enough.

Late night bench press a thon.

Early morning conditioning and pull-ups.

5-4-5-6-7. Last set was kinda awful...heavy kid pull-ups from a dead stop. Efffffff.

There's a video somewhere of one of my Hall-mates tossing a dude out of the lists.

In armor.

Yeah, I see that happening. Someone is going to be an example.

I'll be the tyranny of evil men.

Dat pullup and OHP work is going to pay off big time in the shoulders with fatigue from swinging sword and axe.

Squats yesterday...close stance. Nothing fantastic, just more grind.

6-5-4-3-6 on pull-ups... starting to get easier.

OHP this morning.

Tony, it's f*cking madness. It doesn't look like my armor will be here in time for the 24th, but Ali T and I will film all the bouts.

The armor, well mine anyways, probably weighs about 75 pounds give or take.

And in the Titan class, I'm on the small side.

Watched the scrimmage video you posted on facebook a while back.   Man those suits look hard to move around in!!   Going to have to list some rules for me too.   Im pretty sure I would start to lose my shit in some of those situations and someone would get decapitated.

More movement at the Hall yesterday...feeling good and loose. Good for me...probably not so much for the other guy.

Pull up challenge is going well...managed all the reps and finished with five. Last one from dead stop and arms feeling better. Good looking out Tom!

Early morning workout...0400 early.

45 mins on dreadmill...fight night is getting closer!

Bench work, dips, sword work on the pell, and a million abs.

And yet, no one wants a fight.

Legs did not recover in time for training at The Hall last night and definitely paid for it. I did pick up some cool tricks though...

Made all those 113 shots to the head worth it. I think.

I don't remember.

Definitely! Going to have to work in some pre-hab/rehab on the left arm. Probably pulling with uneven force as well. Meh. I'll live.

Death by Tens this morning and a bunch of abs.

Yes.  A pronated grip puts a lot of stress on the brachioradialis.

My left brachioradialis is my limiting factor for pull ups.  I always irritate it to the point where I can't do pull ups any more, so I am in the middle of a glacially slow program of band assisted pull ups mixed with DB Zottman curls to try to get over it.

Box squats. Not as heavy as I would've liked...just having some pain in my right hip. Right in the front. Stopped at 455 and worked through it. Even sitting sucks.

GHR.

A little conditioning for polish. 30 seconds of heavy bag work (wraps only) followed immediately by 30 seconds of jump rope. And no, not just tapping the bag and being a sissy about it; good contact and good combinations. Good flow. Times 10.

I'll know in the next two days if I get my fight on the 24th or not.
