Allegany County
was a beautiful day, great weather. Braemar 34'2 second Ostone three fouls, thats a first HWFD, unknown, fouled to safety throw to another foul LWFD 60' first HH 83+ second LH 108+ second Caber 12,12,11 only dude to turn all three times, only 12's of the day on the field Sheaf 29' PR, four Guinness deep and feeling it, killer Ric Flair celebration WFH 11' 5 beers deep, feeling it in the wrong way. was nominated as most entertaining athlete of the day, lost out to Courtney McGuire, which is proper. second overall dont know how I pulled that off with fouling out of ostone, but i'll take it, was otherwise pretty consistent. my man Brendan took third and Cory fifth. So ALB goes 2,3,5 aint bad. Squad Goals being realized. lots of practice and hopefully dial a few things in for Northampton. after the games we all put our speedos on and dominated the hotel pool. |

went old school today for a rest.
DL 405x3x3 SQ 315x3x3 Snatch Pulls 225x1x5 alt dumbell raises 20x20x3 hamstring curls 10x3 man, I once hit a 405x10 DL, that seems almost impossible now. Love the Oly training, but I'm feeling week. Gonna try to find a little better blend of strength and speed this summer.

Northampton Games
BR 30+ 5ish OS 38+ 5ish LW 60+ 1st HH 79+ 1st Caber three 12:00, 1st WFH 11' 9 way tie for third SH 26' 3rd absolutely average JVG games, was great to catch up wth some buddies. Beau offered up some WFH cues that I'll be working on for the rest of the season. Muelenberg and I have MWC 2018 all sorted out. Really proud of Cory (5th) and Brendan (2nd). Cory went 40+ twice in ostone and Brendan took second in 3-4 events. I won the overall on the day, which feels really nice. With that being said, winning a game like Glasgowlands with those numbers just illustrates the lack of athletes around these parts. With a little luck Brendan will be beating me soon. My wife really enjoyed the trampoline at our airBNB that night. Brimfield Antiques isn't so cool. I missed my dog. |

I look forward to it, in a 1960's Kung fu type of way.
muscle snatch to 2overhead squats 135x5 front squat 225x3x3 no brush snatches 95x5 the squats felt like 1000lbs. I know this because I've squatted 1000lbs many times. It was tremendous and I am a tremendous squatter. China. Im going to make the bodybuilders build a wall around my squat stands. |

Hunter Mountain Games
so the wife, the bear dog and I roll out of town around 5:00 and head to the mountain, we arrive around 8. Some beers and then we make some man soup in the hot tub. Bruddy, the brothers Milliron, Kelly and Cory Cronk all in the same house for the weekend. The place wasnt amazing, but was cheap, had a hot tub and we had the entire place to ourselves, so thats nice. Mike MillIRON of IRON COFFEE fame woke us to a fine breakfast Saturday am, then we all head over to the field. Got a bit of rain, but nothing horrible. Kinda burned off half way through Braemar. We're chilling under trees and the stone stays relatively dry. BR 35'9 PR so, this comes with multiple asteriks because throwing on a mountain and I played that shit hard. Other throws were around 34' and I've gone 34' with this same stone before. So I gained some from the unfair hill, but not a ton. OS 41'6" Season Best, this is a stone Hapy brought, its my fav. Not so much asterik here because all my throws were straight out, not so much down hill at all. Trig was also graded uphill. HW 28' whatever. I need to work this out, this mark has been getting worse for me over the last few years. LW 59' new trig, this one was downhill and super hard to not foul on HH 84' Season Best, those thin little .5" handles are killer, especially with my style, makes a good fit, they break though, so we didnt get to use them for all 3 rounds. LH 104' Also on the thin handle on my first....I knew I'd probably only get one rip on it before it broke, which happened first throw of round 2. For my second I tried to hit the chair lift, missed. Scratched my 3 cause I didnt think I'd be improving on that. caber 12.12.12:30, was undefeated in caber this year until here. but my man Bruddy took the strap from me and back to ALB, so all good. His celebration game is weak though. SH 28', had some good looks at 30' WFH 12' was pretty drunk and loose by this point. Stayed patient and pulled well. Overall came out #2 because consistency. My hound was a god damn superstar all day. did great for being 5 months. wife hung in like a champ and brought me all the Guinness all day long. my travel team looked like CobraKai rolling up, was grand, Matt Hand swept the leg for the win on the day though. Sam Mattis is a legit athlete. Its a real joy to just share the field with dudes that move like him and Jeff Milliron. If Sam figures a few things out he'll be on that same Milliron program of going pro within a year or so. Which I think is fantastic. These dudes make garbage money from USATF and if they can make a few bucks at games over the summer to help finance their olympic goals, then right on. I forsee a bunch more high level dudes being attracted to the games in the next few years. Plus they're all super educated and well spoken dudes. Its great for the scene and works out all around. we then wrapped up around 8 and back to the mountain chalet to make some more BRO SOUP and enjoy lots more GooseHead IPA's got back to work today and operated a backhoe all afternoon. overall this was the most fun games of the summer so far. 1. unlimited free Guinness 2. mountain views while throwing 3. excellent company 4. Carl rocks and has become a fantastic AD and super accommodating
