I use a commercial plumbing grade schedule 80 PVC. Not the electrical conduit PVC like you might find at Home Depot. It is much stronger and flexes like the rattan.

HAMMERS Hammers are shipped with handles installed. Heads are now sized to fit PVC and rattan. All handles are rasped for good grip.

WEIGHTS steel cased and lead alloy filled so that I can get the weight very accurate - rectangular with rounded corners comes with round handle 7" wide x 5/8" thick. The handle can be attached to the short length of chain by a very heavy-duty carbon steel shackle with bolt, nut and cotter pin or it can be attached to directly to the welded loop on the top of the weight. This allows all weights to be used for both height and distance events.

My equipment has been used in many Pro and Amateur World Championship Games. Weight of equipment is accurate and marked. I have a digital postal scale that measures to 0.02 lb.
