Welcome.  If you have not already check out the Ryan's VP Production tapes at the top of the main page.  Ton of info that you will need to know to get you started.  Also look to the training forum here and use the search feature to see if your questions have been asked before.  You can also use Youtube and search on Highland Games and you will have overkill on training videos. Some are better than others but what's interesting is the contrast in throwing styles and different body styles.  I am in Southern ME. and could probably help with a throwing session or 2 but cannot commit to long term training.  There are a ton of throwers in Mass and Southern NH and hoping they will chime in.  This year's season is almost over, but a few games left in Scotland, CT and Plaistow, NH that you should check out to see and meet throwers firsthand.

Hi, Al:
Thanks for the information. I will have a look at the training tapes and also
will check out youtube. I am looking into obtaining implements. If you have
the time, I would love to drive up to southern maine for a throwing session.
Last weekend, I drove up to Loon Mountain, saw the masters competing in
the sheaf toss. It was a great experience and I got a pic with Magnus ver
Magnusson.
Best regards,
John
