Been a while...

Ohio Scottish Games

Tied 1st overall with Brezina
8 events - 4 firsts 4 seconds
The AD decided we tied
As soon as the games ended, I booked it to the airport and caught a plane to meet my family for vacation.

Had an awesome time with the family. 7 day cruise up to Alaska and a few days in Seattle. Didn't have any decent training available. For 2 straight weeks I didn't lift anything over 55 lbs.

Only managed one lifting session this week and no practice due to the weather. I'll be competing in Saline this weekend and I really have no clue how things will go.

Wednesday - 7/8/15

Decided to go heavier than normal this close to a comp but with the rest the past two weeks I figured it can't hurt.

Deadlift
   Speed sets at 365 x 5 x 2 (felt kinda slow)

Flat Bench
   315 x 2
   335 x 2
   355 x 2
   335 x 2
   315 x 2

Front Squat
   315 x 1
   345 x 1
   365 x 1
   385 x 1
   405 x 1

Chins
Abs

Saline Celtic Festival - 7/11/15

First place in Am A's
Things went pretty well considering I had one real lifting session in the two weeks prior and no throwing.
Open Stone felt better but I really need the reps to get back to 50' on a more regular basis like last season.
HWFD was solid - 38+ all day
LWFD was average - I've been told by quite a few guys that I'm scooping on my finish. Any thoughts???
Everything else was the norm.

Monday - 7/13/15

Back in town after visiting with family.

Flat Bench (1st rep paused/ 2nd and 3rd touch-n-go)
   315 x 3
   335 x 3
   350 x 3
   305 x 3 x 3

Fat DB Rows - 100 x 20 total reps
Chins - BW x 30 total reps
Incline Fat DB Press - 80 x 30 total reps

Went with my wife to a Hispanic grocery store on the west side of Cleveland for some amazing tacos. The place makes them right on the sidewalk in front of the store. I asked the cook what he would recommend but he "no hablo ingles." So I asked some of the locals...again, "no hablo ingles." So I ordered one of everything and it was the bomb. I'm definitely going back.

Tuesday - 7/14/15

Moved into the new house all day but managed a short break for lifting.

SSB Squat
   405 x 3 x 2

Speed SSB Squat with Chains (to a box)
   315 x 4 x 5

Clean Grip Snatch
   worked up to 215 x 2

RDL --> Snatch High Pull
   225 x 3 x 3

Sled pulls x bunches

Sheaf between sets
Stone footwork x all day
