I might as well go where the big kids play. Have a log at another place but I figure I'll get legit feedback here.

My background is in a bunch of stuff but most recently Strongman. Reaching a point where I can't dabble in the throws, need to break up with strongman stuff and get monogamous for a at least a year on the throwing. I'm a B and  Master. I'm also a pixie, 5'9 and 230.  My gym lifts are meh, some of my stone loads and things are better but much weaker tall guys are routinely outhrowing me.  I have the privileged of competing on occasion with Jay O'Neil and friends adn i get to train with Greg York on occasion as well.

Also, Greg can attest to this....I hate drills. If I don't pick it up the basics of it in 5 minutes I don't waste my time with it. Video helps a little but I need to feel it before I see it.

Ummm...what else? Dat's it for now. I write my own programmign with help from some friends and I'm lucky enough to train with a very motivated group of powerlifters. Here's some recent gym work.

Thanks Guys...I look forward to some caber lesson in the off season Jay!  Feel like I should have been broken up with strongman last year and been practicing these throws for the last 6 years but...no time like the present, right?

You heard of Antler drills Dave?

It's line drills sans weight with your arms up above your head i.e. antlers and you focus on fast feet on the turn and keeping your hands/upper body slower and behind your hips.

Unweighted hammer winds, extra slow are a world of suck like no other.

I am a terrible thrower

threw the 56 tonight.one turn only..consistently 25 FFFFFing feet. about 10 throws. 25 feet is just momentum. no timing, blowing through power position, no pop, no pull.

Winter is Coming. We have a great deal of work to do.

You're an average thrower but you'll get better.  You're a terrible person and there's no helping that.

Been a rugged few weeks.

Week before the last meet. Squatted 440 for double and benched a triple at 290
jacked up my back and hip benching.

Rolled into the HG meet with shite mobility. Horrible day. Did get a third in the open stone against two very solid throwers. swore I had a third in Braemar but either the judges or my eyes lied. probably drunk judges.  Everything else just sukt..had no mobility at all.

Post meet I'm transitioning into a new phase. I give it another week of goofing off.

Wednesday last
20 throws learning the full spin  (big project for next year, but I'm tiny and it's probably the only way to really progress.)
Line Drills
Couple WOB.

Sunday:
took 9 LWFD throws
10 Heavy hammer throws......shite
10 LW throws, these are slowly improving, getting close to the 80's with very little effort and 2 rotations
Open Stone 4 throws to about 35'
Braemar 28 pounder, one nice long throw, rest were average at 25ish.

Monday:
CG Bench
155x10
230x5
245x5
265x5
185x19 very close grip.
Shoulder still trixy.

Squat
135x10
225x5
315x5
385x8

low box squat. no belt.
225x3
275x3
315x3

Real easy session.

Next block is still bein sorted. may lay it out here.

Sorry Jim for being such a bad person.
