I think this is the biggest question on a given day.  When Mike was pursuing the Am record years ago, I couldn't believe he had anything left by the time we got to WOB, and then he'd kill himself for a bunch of tosses.

To me, this is what makes a WOB record so meaningful, and in particular why a record only means something in the context of a games.

Congradulations Mike.  I was there to witness the throw with my own eyes and it was amazing.  One of the highlights of the many great throws that I have seen.

Look at the video and look at his feet... he was standing in a depression made by the throwers through out the day.  The depression was no less than 1" lower than than the ground directly dead center under the bar where the height was confirmed (by rules).

So it was over an 18'5" throw. amazing. 

I also have video but am to brain dead to load it tonight.
