Let me be the first to state there is currently no official ruling on this topic, but I want to get a feel for what other ADs are allowing and not allowing.

It was brought to my attention that a competitor put on knee wraps and knee braces for the WOB event. I wouldn't normally think much about it, but these items were worn only for this event through out the entire day (or so I am told). The question from other competitors was, is it legal?

I told them there is no current ruling on it, but I got to thinking about it and I can see the other athletes point. His point was athlete X put on a knee brace and wraps over the knee brace for this event and subsequently won the event. Did/could the knee braces and wraps have assisted in the win?

I can say yes if they practiced that way, but otherwise I think not as it would throw off timing. I would like to hear if any other AD out there may have run into this debate?

Well, l've never heard of or read any rule that would preclude an athlete from using a brace or wrap in the manner that you describe.
