Since there are classes in the database for Masters by age group, is it necessary to keep the Masters A,B,C classes alive?

I would say no.  The Only question it raises for me is how will I enter results for my Masters Classes.  We have a Masters 40-49 and a Masters 50+.  One I can enter in the generic Masters category, but the other I have historically used Masters A or B.

l'd say that they're not needed at all!

How about entering those athletes that are between 40 and 44 in the 40-44 category, those who are between 45 and 49 in the 45-49 category, and so forth?

Probably not useful to have them.

I don't think we need them, but most games out here in CA aren't broken down in 5 year increments; 40-49, 50-59 are much more common.

So if I added 10 years increment classes it sounds like it would take care of things nicely.  I think what I can do also is keep the plain Masters class, and for those athletes with birthdates entered I can pull them into the rankings for the right age group.

Your solution with the 10 year increment classes would be perfect.

Thanks!

I am entering the Phoenix scores and still see 5 year groupings is that going to change? if not what would be the best way to enter the scores we do 40-49, 50 -59, 60-69 and 70+  thanks for the help!!!

The new 10 year age groups are there now.

Can we just delete the plain "Masters" class?  Seems like this would force people to put results in the appropriate age classes then.

Sounds cool!  Now if there were some way to force people to enter the ages of the Master men!!!

Kurt,

Some of the masters groups I run are either 45+ or 40+. Not broken down by age groups. could you leave the "Masters" group as a generic one?
