Since all you babies want to whine about CC on the other thread, I thought I would start a new one.

Things are great. Spirits are high, friendships are rekindled, and people are ready to throw far!

Ryan looks and feels good. Brock and Sean look destined to have an epic battle. Gregor is out due to a bulging disc. Also out is Bruce Robb who had to fly home for a family emergency(kids).

So quit whining about CC and realize there are things more important things than him.

Say a prayer for good weather, long throws, and no injuries!

Thanks for the update.  With those two out, the complextion of the games is a lot different.  Now throwing 50' even in the stone should bump a guy up to 9th place instead of 11th.

Have a great weekend guys!  Can't wait to hear all about it!

In defense of the people putting up the standards, the
old ones were damaged, new poles were ordered on Monday,
and picked up Wednesday. And since they don't come
rigged for the sheaf, I'm sure some work had to be done.

No, there won't be a sheaf toss in the world
championships. The open amateur and masters' classes
will be tossing the sheaf.

I'll be in and out today but I'll give her a call after my 20 mile run and see what she can give me.

Is this a one day event or two day?

One day. If anyone can do all that in one day it's Jim Pauli and his size 12s.

Ryan is in great position!  With Gregor and Bruce out, 15' WOB could take 5th place without any misses.  Plus, you gotta know Ryan will be top three in the hammers and caber.

Great job Sean! Sean was practically breathing fire at LV and after that I knew he'd be tough to beat.

I have never seen a better use of this board.  Thanks Craig - I can't believe you did this and weren't even there.  Congrats to all- those are some big big numbers.  Great to Jim and xxxxl in those shots too.

Congratulations, Sean!  It couldn't have happened to a nicer guy!  Didn't look like an easy job, but you got it done!  Nobody can erase your name from the heavy events history book now.

Way to go everyone!

CONGRATS SEAN!!!!

You have worked hard and have overcome many obstacles to achieve this title.  I remember your rookie year when you, Will Barron, K-monster, Chris St. Claire, Craig Palm competed up here.  How times have changed.  Again, Congrats!

Congrats to all the competitors especially Sean, would have been great to see the action, but this was almost as good.  Can't wait to see any video that may have been shot, from the results sounds like it was a clinic to see.  Nice work Hads and Joel.

I totally agree with the Jayster!

It is an absolute disgrace that the TV Companies have no bloody interest in Highland Games.

But hey! Let's keep that for another thread!

Tonight is all about one hell of a nice bloke doing something that the rest of us can only dream about.

To be a WORLD CHAMPION is a magnificent achievement and something that nobody will every be able to take away from Sean!

Fame at last Sean!

Hey folks, just getting in and about to get ready to eat. There are a few mistakes with some of the distances...it will probably get cleaned up in the next few hours.

Congrats to Sean, he was on fire all day. It was an epic battle between he and Larry all day. Definately some huge throws for this time of the year.
