I think he learned that if Eric ever spun with the sheaf he'd clear 100ft.

I should have known you would chime in.....

I think if anything, we've learned just the opposite...  Standing won in 2007.

Wasn't last year 2007.....I'm talking "This year"

You know I got nothing but respect for you Craig.  I respect anybody that utilizes Zerchers in their training.  My wife's grandfather grew up with Ed Zercher, Sr. and I met Ed Zercher, Jr. years ago at odd lift meets in Missouri.  I suck at them, but I do Zerchers in my training, too.

I just love the height events, standing or spinning!  Thanks for posting the videos, I really dig how Eric gets that long sweep and just explodes out of the hole, looks like he does it just past his right foot, later than most guys, but then again, maybe that way it's all "up" and no downward force to overcome.  When you are fast, you can do that!  I'm amazed at how fast you responded.  I hadn't even backed out of the thread and you'd smacked me.

Craig, Here goes

The video helped me improve my throws by mimicking Eric’s form the best I could.

Key points for me that I changed were:

#1     Wider Grip.

#2     Changed where I stab the bag to the corner. Bag flies better and you get more whip.

#3     Longer backswing with the bag.

#4     I stopped blocking and now I follow the bag thru turning after release.

#5     I visualized Eric’s throw in my mind before throwing

#6    3 steps forward from the bar lets me pull back and up instead of just up.

After doing this I increased my throws about 3 feet.

I gained about 5 feet in the 28 wfd after watching Eric throw the 28 wfd on video.

I learned to take the first turn with no forward progress and the second turn attacking forward giving me more room. I was just turning…..I also noticed his palm faced forward at release instead of facing the ground. I tried that and felt stronger.
