I wanted to thank everyone for their help, it was extremely valuable. I got the coaching assistants all broken into small groups with the instruction that they could not have 2 people of the same sport in a group. As I thought there was a great deal of debate and negotiating and some people that were far from happy with the end result. (The crew coaches were upset because every other sport wanted an agility test and they felt it wasted one of the tests, i made them pick 5) I was able to show how this mimics the same process used to design all the new state test required by law. It must have went well because the department head asked if i would be interested in teaching a summer graduate class on tests and measures. We'll see if it happens...if it does (and even if it doesn't) I owe all you guys a debt of thanks...and a beer.
