I was trying to enter some scores Monday night. The weird thing was that when I entered scores for me, the DB entry form was complaining about the format of the caber scores for entries already in the DB.

The game I was working on was the Northeast FL Game in Jacksonville.
When the form came up, and I put my scores in, all of th ecaber scores went red, even for the 3 guys who posted scores on Sunday.

There was nothing I could do to get them to go in. Tried 85D, 85 deg, 85deg, 85, left it blank, etc.

Thanks for any help.

This is change I had to make to accomodate the new caber decathalon rankings that will be implemented.

From now on all caber scores have to be formatted a certain way:

For o'clock scores, it must in the format x:xx or xx:xx.  The place can still be entered in paranthesis at the end like xx:xx(2) for example.

For degree scores, only the number of degrees can be entered with or without the place in paranthesis at the end.  No other text will allowed.

For your case, the '85' should work fine now, but I'm not about leaving it blank.  I may need to allow for that or something like 'NA'.

Tried changing all the caber scores to just numbers. Got this:

Microsoft JET Database Engine error '80040e14'

Syntax error in UPDATE statement.

/dbase/resultsentry.asp, line 2675

I can e-mail you a screen capture of the entry form if it would help troubleshoot.

Again, thanks for your help.

Tell me the games and class you are trying to update and I'll check it out.

Northeast FL Games in Jacksonville, FL

A Division.

There are 3 guys who entered scores already. Brian Burnett, Brent Burnett, and Scott Grimm. All 3 entered their caber differently. When I try to add more scores, the DB flags their caber scores as invalid. No matter what I change it to, it is the same result.

Thanks!

I just update all the 2007 scores last night and didn't see this issue, so I'm not sure what happened.

Not sure what happened either. I have entered scores dozens of times.

Today I see that you updated the scores for the 3 guys already entered.

Seeing that I tried to enter my scores again using the online entry form. I selected the game, A Division, and "1" for number of athletes to enter. The form came up with the 3 guys already in the DB.

I put in my scores, clicked submit.

The "results have been entered" page came up normally.

I went to view my results, and they were not there. I tried this 3 times (Twice using FireFox, and once with IE.)

????

Sorry to keep this going. If other people are not having problems, it could be something with my setup, firewall (maybe), ???
