Theoretically if I have an athlete break a record, and we are throwing out of a wing trig will that affect the legitimacy of said record? Also if the trig is a platform rather than grass does that affect the record at all?

The SHGA rules (as most recently revised) call for a winged trig; the straight portion the usual 4 1/2 feet, and the wings taking it out to a total width of 6' 9". That's certainly acceptable for records. Unless someone makes a convincing argument against it, I'll accept records in the US or elsewhere using a similar setup.

A turfed platform is probably OK - I'll trust the AD/judge's opinion on whether it's comparable to a traditional grass box; anyone is of course free to challenge it if they think it's unfair, which is why I ask for people to report records publicly here. Concrete is not OK.

Especially if it's just a class record.

Why is concrete not ok? The reason I ask is because I have a sponsor donate a slab for the trig(cement company) it's not written in the rules anywhere I could find and its basically all I have to use

Where are you throwing that a concrete slab is all you have to use?

West Texas, we don't have grass

Concrete is much harder, faster and more even than grass. How much of an advantage that gives depends on technique and what you're used to, but it's usually going to help.
