Well to keep from cluttering up Duncan's log any more I figure we'd get the beards on here.

Feel free to add your own pics.

Btw, these beards are all too pretty. Women pluck and groom. Men simply grow.   ;)

Duncan's doesn't qualify as a beard yet. More of a sac scrubber.

Well, there was that one time in Washington State back in '09 when there were some guys with nets ready to carry me off the Prosser Highland Games fairgrounds, but I assured them that Sasquatch went in the other direction.

I hope that clears things up.  LOL

Mr. Smith, seeing as how the NASGA beard challenge has proven its legitimacy, I think it only fitting to use your computer Ninja skills to update the blurb beneath my avatar from "Craig Smith Fan Club" to "2011/12 NASGA Beard Champ."  Unless someone disagrees with conferring the title.

I intend to repeat for the 2012/13 beard season.

Phatmiked's beard was featured prominently in this eerie showdown which previously appeared on NASGA some months ago...

I'm seeing a distnct pattern here.  Redbeards that get unruly early.  I'm all in.  Hopefully I can hold out with Dougie Fresh until April.

Holy cripes!

Goatees and other such nonsense are not beards. Grow in the bare spots my men.

Beech, can I get the "Elmo?" *wink wink nudge nudge*

And Craig why the hate for the moustache trim? I can't swing the push broom over my upper lip and the Amazon doesn't dig it either.

And where's your beard pic kilted thrower?

I compare it to the guy who wants long hair, and then grows a mullet.  It's just not the same.  Now granted, I don't really like every single thing I drink being stuck in my mustache, but that's just part of the deal when growing an unruly winter beard.  It eventually gets long enough that you can brush it to the side and twist handlebar or imperial style if needed.  And that, is a top shelf look.  Example:

(To be honest, I can live with the mustache trim in normal times, but during the true growth season (ie: November - March) it should be left untouched.)

Don't you worry about my picture....trust that my beard is growing.

Fine then.  Guess I'll have to let my moustache be.

I still think we need to see a pic.  Is it because you've got braids or beads in it?  It's cool man.  We won't judge.

If anyone needs any cinematic motivation to help them through the winter, I would highly recommend watching two of the greatest beard flicks of all time-- John Carpenter's The Thing, and the WWII epic Das Boot.  A good blend of Antarctic and Westphalian beards between the two.

More like the guy who wants a Mohawk and gels up the middle for a Faux-hawk. FFFFF I hate that that.

That said, I do trim the stache and will mess with my beard too; I blame it on not being able to get a haircut, I miss going to the barber.

THAT said, if I had hair I'd totally have a mullet.

so...
Civil War length goatees are unmanly, but
Trimming a milkstache because it gets icky at mealtime is manly.

LOL

Not unmanly at all, it's what I wear the other 6 months of the year (usually). This isn't the goatee thread though. Big difference between a long beard and a long goatee.
