Sorry for any bad typing here, but I'm one handing it.

Went a little overboard lifting Friday, and spent a good chunk of Saturday throwing my kids. My left triceps is locked up and hurts like a bastard. Any advise on getting the muscle to loosen up?

Just the usual: foam roll, stretch, maybe even some light high-rep work for blood flush.

If you've got a massage therapist its a good time to make the call.

Thanks for the tip. I'll hit light weight tonight to loosen it up.

I have had consistently good luck with a "hair of the dog" approach. For instance, if I've overdone it with pulls or deadlifts and my back and glutes are ruined,  I'll use a jumpstretch band or a very light weight and work through that same range of motion for sets of 20-30 or even 50.

Pumping blood into the area solves a number of ills and speeds recovery. The tension must be extremly light though, for something like a deadlift or clean pull I might use only 45-100 pounds.
