Considering I live in the middle of the desert, where lawn mowers are scarce, where do folks buy their blades for hammer boots?

Thanks. I saw that and wasn't sure whether his site was still active. Contacted him and ordered today.

Brock's blades won't work out here unless you dump a bunch of ice on the ground the night before you train (which would get old, very fast). The ground is too hard. I bought a pair in 2010 and tried to use them for about 3 months without success... Barba has a pair too and he can never dig in anywhere down there or up here.

I went to Home Depot and bought 2 cheap lawnmower blades. Took a grinder to them and attached them to my boots. Haven't had a problem digging in anywhere yet. Even in the heat of our summer and the ground super hard. Hell I just dug in last week and the ground is pretty tough.

Jake - is it a matter of being sharp or is it a dimensions issue?

they're too thick and stiff. IF you can get them in the ground, the second you lean back on them they pull through the hard dirt. They work fantastic if the dirt and grass are very moist. A thinner blade like a lawnmore blade or sawblade steel work best for our dirt out here. I have Brock's blades and I've tried to use them in tucson without luck. Chat with Barba about them, he's got them too. Our ground is just too hard without prepping it.
