Rules

Each throw will be measured from a point on the inside-upper edge of the trig closest to where the competitor's plant foot (left foot for a right-handed competitor) landed to the nearest break in the ground made by the implement (not including the handle

What about if a right handed thrower plants with the left foot outside the box and spins around on the right foot in the front center of the trig???

Do you measure from the left side or center of the trig???

Trick question!  The operative phrase here is "outside the box."  That would be a foul and no measurement is taken!

you can have one foot outside the box to the side... I just am trying to vision the spinning around on the right foot - seeing how it is not the plant.... a foul may be the least of the thrower's problems

another way to look at the question is a person who places the front leg to the side of the box on a braemar throw - Harvey Barkaukas? Anyone?

I would take the measurement from the corner of the trig closest to the plant foot.

lf one "plants" a foot "outside the box" and then "spins," how are both feet not outside the box?  And when is that not a foul??  Think about that!!

If he has one foot planted and spins on the other, he tears himself in half.  Is that a foul?

If a left handed thrower shanks a throw to the right and a right handed thrower does the same and they both land in the same spot, who wins? The right handed thrower.

When I said spin I mean follow threw.

If he is spinning on the right foot... it is in contact with the ground in the box..... yes he tears something.... maybe an ACL

The question has nothing to do with torn ACLs or fouls. I get what your saying Rob. Just dont know the answer.

On a legal throw you measure from the point on the inside edge of the trig closest to the competitor's plant foot. Period. If the plant foot is outside the box this rule still applies but now the corner of the trig is the closest point on the inside edge. Don't overcomplicate it.

Cheers,

Carlos
