Thanks for the recap Craig. I'm a newbie with only my second games coming up this weekend but I am also a fan of what's going on. I looked for info on the Celtic all weekend and am glad to see it. Even though I'll be throwing this weekend, I'll still be a fan and interested in the pro throws on the field just because of some of the awe inspiring throws I'll get to see.

Fantastic recap.  Some of these numbers are just numbing.  Everyone does 16 in WOB?  140 light?  92 LW?  Insane stuff there.  Any new donut photos?

Hey Mike, who says anyone is dying the hair blonde?

Mike,

On the few occasions I have seen videos or pictures of myself throwing, I am often bewildered at how little I actually use my LEGS (which is fine if you are Christian Cantwell, but since I'm not it's an issue).  After speaking with Bert and reviewing some footage he took, I am definitely investing in a video recorder before next season and using it extensively.

Craig - many thanks for the excellent recap.  As noted above, lot of us have been waiting for something like this.

So since the international ranking board is not a reality yet. did the Celtic Classic earn anyone an invitation to the world championships next May?

OK!  l just got lost!  How does a recap of the scores at the Celtic not belong in the "General" forum?  l can understand how the subject of soccer should go under "Nonsense!"

Also worth noting how important the caber is. My brother got an 85 degree score on Sunday (challenge) with the same stick as Saturday (competition). If he's done that on Saturday, he takes 7th instead of 10th.
I'd still beat him though.

Maybe you can use the "we need someone from a state bordering WV to represent the area" strategy???

I am trying to get invited as the top - and maybe only current active - WV thrower.  I don't like my chances.  Vierra (and his wife) think that I am Mike Smith's twin...maybe I can use that angle.

There are a lot of guys who don't like the sheaf, but when you have several guys who are on, the crowd loves it and its just plain fun.

Now this is how this forum is supposed to be and use to be!  What marks!  That would have been a fun one to watch.  HB- I’ve never that many guys over 30’ in the sheaf or over 16’ in the WFH and I’ve been to a few games in my 30 years of involvement.

Man, I wish I could have come up and watched the Classic.  But, I forgot it was last weekend and went down to Williamsburg and had a very mediocre day throwing myself.

But, I am definitely going to come out on Saturday at Richmond and watch the big boys.  I might even shag, if I am allowed to touch the implements they are using.

Seriously, you guys are awesome.  Wish I would have gotten started in this sport at a younger age so I would have had more time to try to get as good as the pro's.

Craig, thanks for the great recap man.  Great throws fellas, I knew this would be a classic bout ... no pun intended.  : )

Hope to throw with more of you pros in the days to come.  Thanks for making and keeping our sport at such a high level of athleticism, power and professionalism.
