Has anyone, or is anyone, dealing with one leg that is stronger than the other?  In particular, my left leg is stronger than my right in every conceivable lift, however, I am a right handed thrower.  I just don't understand why this is the case.  When I say stronger, I meand 20-25% stronger.  My right arm was vastly stronger than my left owing to pitching, but that has evened out over the past 10 years.  I have had no operations or major injuries , etc., and they are the same size (length and diameter).  Does anyone have any ideas?

I don't think that your issue is uncommon.  I have noticed over the last year or so that the leg opposite of my throwing arm is stronger.  In fact I sometimes find myself rocking to that leg when I squat.

I think that throwing has at least a part in the reason.  If you think about it, the leg opposite your throwing arm does a larger portion of work during the throw.  You are pivoting and blocking with that leg.  The other leg does not have to take weight or explode as hard as that leg.

That is my theory.  I am sure there are others on this board who can give better explanations.  Maybe Coach Mac

Hmmm seems like your throwing leg would be stronger to me, this is the
"drive leg" while the off-leg is your block - seems counterintuitive to me
maybe...

Though I would say that a 20%+ imbalance cant be good for you at all.
Definitely would recommend some one-legged squats and 1-leg dumb bell
push presses to strengthen the weak leg.

Also do stepups and make sure you step up with both legs either alternating
or on different sets.

My left leg is also stronger than my right. Truly odd. I also put the left leg forward when I do jerks and I jump off it. Even though I could not kick a ball with my left leg to save my life. Bizarre.

It is bizarre. And I also agree that it seems counterintuitive.  However, maybe I am just in the closet... maybe... I am really a left handed thrower in denial!

Typing in the dark at 05:30 just prior to putting in the
"mother of all cement throwing pad "...(60 x 55 '
)....first of all I would look at the subject and have you
do a over-head snatch grip squat to see if there are
any AB-normal "im-balances"...this is diagnostic
FUNCTIONAL test...do the heels come up (lack of
flexibility) OR does one leg turn in...this can be a
couple of things: one leg excessively longer than the
other...knees counter inwards or outwards...low
back excessive SWAY....Oly bar falls forwards or
backwards ect.

This will give you a clue to whats missing or needs
work. Dave Brown is contemplating a "make-over"
for next year and this is what we will start with.

Some intresting studies done on crossover
strength...I don't have the numbers in front of me but
injured legs will get stronger exercising the mobile
limb...this is the nervous system at work.

Since BALANCE is the key to good performances try
throwing the implements back with the non-
dominant side...try to do mundane tasks (opening
doors ect. ) with the non-dominant arm ect.

Most good ART or Sport Chiro's can find im-
balnces...good luck on the balance issues
especially on Jan 1rst....
Have a GREAT Day !

A little advice that is not serious:

Buy an old kick start pan head or knuckle head harley,  stroked it out to 100 CI.  After kick starting that puppy all summer, you will have a right leg stronger than your left.
