Think I will start logging, again.

Of course, that means I will need to start training again . . .

Throwing practice on Tuesday 29 July:

dwu

OS progressions with drills mixed in
full throws
approximately 35 throws all included
felt pretty good considering lack of practice this year.  took about 20 full throws.  46'-48'+.  Pretty happy with that.  Guess the drills have paid off.

LH
some winds then about 15 full throws

was feeling the lack of reps in the hammer.  was tired from all the OS.  So, just took it easy and worked positions and pushing the ball on the finish.

dwu
LW
5x standing
10 by single turns
10x full

thumb is not happy. didn't bother taping any of these.  just had a cone to mark the farthest.  cast and sprint feel pretty good, but the transition to finish is a bit off.  gotta drill that

some OS . . .

started with some standing throws, but finished quickly when my 13 y/o nephew, who was shagging for me, dropped the stone one the edge of the concrete shot platform splitting it in half.

Confused Confused Confused Confused Confused Angry

finished up at the warehouse with some

PP - upto 222 x 5 x 3 sets
RDL into power shrug - 222 x 6 x 3 sets
plank

pizza

got some nice DOMs in the abs from hammer on Tuesday

it's all about the reps, broheim

Saturday 2 Aug

nice light throwing day.  getting reps and working positions and tempo

dwu
Stone - 5 standing and 6 MSA with my 16# shot
49# WFD - 5
LH - 5
20# sheaf 6
49# WFH - 5

man, the 49er felt heavy.

things feel pretty good.  most throws were in the 75-80% range

most important thing that took place today:  changed my avatar.  I've rolled with the whitey tighty Homer since I first got on here back in 2006.  I think Hacksaw is the way to go for the foreseeable future.

The similarities are uncanny, except the one glaring difference.

Today starts my offseason for 2014/2015.

I plan on endeavoring to post my progress like the cool kids.

As always, start with a proper warmup . . .

(it's an oldie but a goodie, and it's been too long)

Yeah, I found that warmup video long ago.  I used to think Jake was the most graceful big guy I had ever seen, until I saw that.

I did this little gym of a lab on Monday for my Exercise Physiology class.  It sucked.  But, my max power was 1044 watts.  The the percentile rankings for college age males placed the 90th percentile at 662 watts.

So, I got that going for me.

With a system basically just like the one in the video.  So, with a computer.

For being a relatively small college, Schreiner has some cool equipment in the EXSI lab.  We have a bod pod which measures body composition by air displacement.  Which is more accurate, and much less of a hassle, than hydrostatic measurement.

You can just calculate this running up a flight of stairs.  I make my freshman do it every year!

This Tlog is still on here??  Clearly I failed at posting . . .

Finally starting to get back to strength levels of fall 2013.  The 2014 quasi-sabbatical was good in some ways, not so good in others.

the 2015 season is going to be very interesting.

It looks like I will try to mix in a couple games during the Inaugural TeamDickens Family Summer Road Trip which is likely to include:  Carlsbad Caverns, Gila Cliff Dwellings, Grand Canyon, Lehi Utah, Boulder CO, Mt. Rushmore, Gaylord MI, Embro Canada, Sears Towers, St. Louis Arch, amongst visits to Grandma/Papa's, and Great Grandma/Big Papa's

Clark Griswold, you're weak.
