Here's a video of a recent snatch/hang snatch. I'm not sure I'm getting my hips through enough. With the throwing season approaching I'll be doing more of these and I'm hoping to not ingrain faulty motor patterns so any advice would be appreciated.

Seems similar to Dan's.

I have very few social interaction skills, so I just throw stuff instead.

I think snatches themselves are a faulty motor pattern in their own right, with respect to the throws.  We don't "catch" the weights/stones/hammers, thank God.

But, for some folks, snatches seem to make one a better athlete overall.  YMMV.

More to the point, do the olifts if they make yourself a better athlete.  Don't try to make them throws specific.  They aren't.

This thread isn't nearly as interesting as the title indicated. I feel deceived.
Cheers,

Weight is too light to notice and technique flaw..  More weight please.  Like 80% of max will do it..

Chad, the motor patterns i was worried about were those associated with the snatch it's self. The snatch seems to help my throws but I like to snatch well to so I try to make sure I keep then as close to the original lifts as I can. I do other things as well that are even more "throws related".

Chiro, I'm embarrassed to admit it but that weight is closer to 90% of my max. Even more so when Dan makes 310 look so easy:-0

Borges, it was a marketing ploy. Im glad it worked ;-)

I was just wanting to get some extra eyes on my form as I train alone most of the time.

I'd suggest a coach or, if none available, a seminar.  Just as important as HOW you do the lifts is WHY you need to lift the way you have to lift.  A second set of eyes is best.

I have to agree with Gene, more weight!  You made that look easy! That bar is moving sooo fast.  Head looks great, hips are solid -- I'd say you're good for more weight than that.  Nice work!

Thanks Dan!

Chad, I'll see if I can find one around here.
