I found out the sorta hard way that if you are taking certain antibiotics, DO NOT be throwing or lifting hard. Apparently antibiotics can cause weakness in tendons/ligaments. Had strep throat and 2 1/2 weeks of pills...didnt know anything about antibiotics causing problems until...
My 3rd throw on LWFD at Tartan Fest South and I felt a little something in my elbow/forearm. After a few days some bruising appeared(along with soreness). Also kinda figured out why the right Achilles has been sore.
I may be left handed for a while....Long story short;skip the antibiotics.

Don't throw or lift while on Levaquin, especially.  Their is even a warning associated with it now.

+1  I Had Levaquin just before Christmas.  Had to lay off.

Cipro is another.  My dad was on it for 30 days...  They told him to avoid the "heavy" lifting for several weeks AFTER he was done with it.  He is 74 and lives on a farm...

Not all Antibiotics are like this, but some are.  Taking them and laying off the lifting is better than dying from pneumonia...

It's probably just because Im a 95 pound weakling.

Really, though. Spoke with my doc about it...it's real. Just be mindful of the increased likelihood.

Oh, I'm well aware of the potential side effects, I was stating that without noting the actual drug, dose, duration, and injury, it's kinda hard to put together a reasonable conclusion.

I'll be sure to include the findings from the relevant Wilcoxon tests along with P values on any future posts.

I talked to Mark Peterson (he is a masters thrower) about
some medication he was on. He was taking the generic
version of a popular drug and he suffered in the throwing
and lifting department. He said his drugs were:

Mycoxaphlopin
Mydixadropin
Ibepokin

Be warned.

I think they prescribe a blue pill concurrently with those.

That would be fantastic

Because we know that not all antibiotics have the same side effects, and since you left out that very important piece of information, along with other pieces of information, it's hard to say "skip the antibiotics".

Watch, I can post a fallacy too:

Cheeseburgers lead to cardiovascular disease.  I ate cheeseburgers and have cardiac problems.  Long story short, skip the cheeseburgers.

this makes me wonder.. i've had some left achilles issues this past week and I started anti-Bs on wednesday last week due to a sinus infection. he gave me something different than i've ever taken before, a juiced up version of amoxicillan is what he called it, I don't have it with me so I don't know the name. My first squat workout while on the anti-Bs was friday and that's when I noticed the lower calf/achillies area was really hurting. a pretty heavy dull pain that affected how I walk immediately following squats or anything explosive. I shrugged it off, rolled it, iced it and then squatted yesterday and it was even worse. I never got that initial "pop" (feeling, not sound) you get when you injure yourself so I don't think it's an injury. Yesterday was day 7 and I feel great so I'm coming off prematurely.. I'm hoping the issue goes away before next squat session.

I understand what you're saying; however, discontinuing a course of antibiotics prematurely because you're feeling better is usually highly discouraged.  The belief is that by not continuing the full course, you ended up sparing the remaining microbes that were a bit more resistant to the antibiotics so they survive to reproduce later and create a more resistant strain.  Better to modify your routine for just a few days and check with physician or pharmacist about possible side effects.

The fluoroquinolone group of antibiotics are the ones implicated in tendon damage.
