I am new to throwing, but not the strength game I use bands in my training all the time. Sometimes they are for added resistance or to assist the lift, but I really think they are beneficial.

How many of you guys/gals use them and do you see their benefits? Also where in your training do you use them?

I just started using them.  I used them for 3 weeks, gradually increasing weight from 75-85% my ORM.  On the 4th week I decided to retest some of my ORMs.  I'm not a strong guy so don't laugh, but Front Squat went from 335-370, Deads went from poor form 405 to 455 with decent form, Bench from 315-330, Incline stayed at 295 for 2 for some reason.  Hang cleans and hang snatches increased 10-15 each.  This was without a belt because I hate belts, so maybe they could have been higher, who knows.  Needless to say, as a result, I will be incorporating bands into future workouts.

I'm also a bands guy. I like minis from the ground to the bar for overheads. Sometimes I do the foot wrap thing with minis for DL's.
I also hang kettlebells from the bar with bands and go lite as assistance work for both over heads and front/rear squats.
40lbs of kettlebells hanging from a 15" camber bar makes 135 feel like 250 overhead......Brian will tell ya so.
I dont go crazy with them on everything, but I do see the benefits for assistance stuff.

Well I did test my ORMs while I was in NY and got to train at Mr. Vonguinness's gym.  Josh, I do the majority of training at Lifetime Fitness in Fridley, MN.  They have an Oly bar, bumper plates, body bars for hammer, med balls, and ply boxes.  Enough to get the job done.  Unfortunately there are a lot of dorks there who get in my way when I'm doing curls in front of the mirror!

I like bands for getting the job done with less weight and less reps.  I was doing maintenance squats (just to keep my strength) with bands with 80% + average bands.  I did 9 timed singles with one minute rest, trying to be explosive.  At the end of the 9 singles, I would pull off the bands and do 1-2 more heavy singles.  Tested my squat at the end of the cycle, and I actually got stronger.

Not a lot of work for a pretty nice gain.

For the record, my chest is just naturally magnificant, no puffing needed!  This Lifetime is the old Northwest.  The nice thing is that they let me throw my 17# indoor shot on the gym floor, along with a 20# rubber handled med ball to practice wfd.  Very cool.  In hindsight, I wish I knew about the benefits of band work while I threw in college as I'm thinking it could have helped quite a bit.

Band work is great I use it almost every time I lift no matter if it's bench, squat, and even deads. They are especially handy if you are nursing a sore joint (shoulder or hip especially) because I can set them so almost completely deload at the bottom then regain tension once I'm past the point where it really hurts (bottom)

I like bands. Since I use a Westside-esque template, I most often use them for added resistance on my DE days. I also like to use reverse bands to get past
plateaus on my ME work. They're also great for stuff like triceps push downs and added resistance on dips.

Since I don't have any of the implements yet, I have been hooking bands to a rack or something immobile and practicing stone putting with it. Obviously you don't want to do any gliding or spinning with it, but the turn and push is pretty easily replicated with the bands. Also doing a pull through with them to simulate a WFH is something I have done lately.

I need to try the reverse bands soon though. Looks like it could really help my lifts and creating more speed. Gotta love more speed!
