So after talking with Chad Gustin and Ryan Stewart on saturday at the Tucson games I've got a bit of a question. First, I'd like to thank both of them for being such cool down to earth guys as well as convincing me to move to a hook grip, lol. I'll be taping my thumb up this afternoon and working drills with it to get used to it.

Anyways, in regards to 'catching' the weight. Previously, I thought that 'catching' the weight was just that, literally catching the weight at the 6 o'clock position (being the lowest point) and starting your pull there. I had no idea that you guys started your pull closer to 9 or even 10 o'clock (in relation to the trig being 12 o'clock). Every time I had started pulling previous to 6 o'clock I always lost it off my right side, most likely due to grip issues and I thought that's because I was pulling too early. I'm going to be practicing standing drills, single spins and line drills quite a bit this off season. I'm throwing close to 35' HWFD with only a 1/2 ROM pull so I think I've got some good distance in me once I get it figured out.

So, that was a long preface, sorry bout that. The question is, are you guys doing that on your first spin as well as your second? Or are you just getting your feet around and into position on the first spin, then pulling at 6, catching at 10 and ripping it the whole rest of the way? Or are you pulling at 10 for both spins? Kind of hard to articulate, but I hope you get the point. I know that speed is the goal here, not power, but "pull" is the best way I can get my point across.

Thanks for all your help, its much appreciated.
