So I heard something that was a bit disturbing to me this past weekend. They said...'A's will follow traditional order of events.'
At first I was confused...but then I figured out that meant WOB was last. ![]() Is this true, is there a traditional order of events and does that place WOB last? If so I seriously need to address the way I train. |

Yes and you should keep to that as there is no advantage to working the other way...CASE IN POINT!!! a few years back had open, masters, women, lightweight class and was divided into 2 flights had a big enough field to run 2 trigs but figured that our resident legend(aka 17/20) was close to blowing out the masters wr in wob and figured lets get Don a few whacks early while he's fresh so he could go 21+ standing well masters and lightweights went wob first and it was a friggin diasester(sp)...Don only made his opening height( a mortal mere 16 feet) and said his groove wasnt greased to hit the high heights...basicaly it is a good idea to keep the traditional order if field and time constraints dictate it

Amen! We all figured we were going to set PRs at least, but it was a flat-out disaster. We had no pop or accuracy in our WOB, and then it totally messed us up for stones and WFD.

As has been stated, there is a traditional order but don't be surprised (or upset) if it's not followed. Some AD's have their own mindset and you'll find that bigger Games that run 2, 3 or more groups at once are forced to deviate from that order! |

I throw a lot in the masters class....and you NEVER know
where you are going to start in masters. But, like Don, I would perfer to the throw WOB last and if not last, in the afternoon. I hit my 20'6" on the last event of the day in a 9 event meet where I took extra throws on every event I won......should have been gassed. |
