Gentlemen, and of Course, the Ladies...

Besides throwing in an "open" amateur comp, what distances does one have to throw as a C before he or she moves to a B class?  Does one stay a C until they feel like making the jump?

Respectfully,

Duncan McCallum

I think if you search this board and you will find a link to SAAA guidelines which most people refer to as well as a discussion on where the numbers came from.

The link is: moving up

Some also say that you need to win a game at the class your competing in before moving up.  Some AD's use well defined rules, some are more flexible to balance classes: IF I have 16 C's and 5 B's, I would consider moving some of the better C's up if it appears they are close to the competitors in the B's (but would always ask what the C's throwers tought)..

I've found it's much the same as when you start competeing intially.  Inform your AD what your marks in practice have been, previous T&F expierence, etc. I'm sure they'll have a good idea where in the field to place you.  After that your marks speak for themselves.

I think there's alot to be said for rookie throwers (such as myself) building muscle memory through throwing practice.  But that said it's cold & I like to hibernate in the gym during the offseason.

So lift hard now & throw the Sh*t out of whatever you have lying around come spring .  At least that's my plan.
