This is from Tony Dziepak's link that's listed on the Nasga Links page - so hope it's okay to post about. If not I'll remove it - no harm intended. I've been trying to work through the footwork/grips and general basics of the shot put in an effort to dig a decent stone mark out of my a Not having the resources to travel out of town for just a clinic & not having a Pro game in Utah this year http://www.geocities.com/aedziepak/power This link has given me an outline for some of my winter indoor training & thought some of the other rookies w/o a track background ( like myself ) might appreciate having a look. Any and all commentary from those of you ( Pro & Am ) w/ anything to add is ALWAYS GREATLY APPRECIATED. Thanks JS |

Joel. I am not the greatest stone thrower but I think their are some things I can realy help you with. I know I can help you with all your events at least a little. I throw every monday morning no matter what. Yes even this monday when it was 35 degrees out
. PM me and let me know when you throw and I will go meet you some place.

Thanks for the invite Ryan I'll PM ya later - Finally understanding how to hold the damn thing has already helped alot. I was always trying to use the widest finger placement I could to keep it from coming off my pinky. Only to have my fore & middle fingers turn purple where they connect on the forearm. I thought that was just the way it was. Tried griping it like suggested in the link & the release felt smoother. Felt more in my wrist as opposed to further down the forearm. Maybe my mechanics are still wrong but atleast it hurts somewhere new I've also just built a plywood trig. I added the trig board & painted the dots for my footwork. (courthouse didn't want me painting on their floor - go figure).
