Hey Dan,
Welcome. No need to wait until Altamount next year when there are plenty of games before. Where do you live and how old are you? There are plenty of athletes in the upper NY, VT, NH area that might lend a hand. Also tons of youtube video as well as commecial material available to show you the ropes. The forum is a wealth of info spanning decades, look to the training forum for ideas. Al |

I agree with Al. Go throw, get some #'s on the board. Hell you might surprise yourself. I've only thrown in 2 games, won C class and competed yesturday in B. Good Luck.

Definitely look into the training forum and keep scrolling back. There is a ton of info on lifting programs, various lifts that support the thrower and nutrition posted by the some very knowledgeable people. Purchase or make some training weights and start throwing. At 39 you would be throwing the 56 for distance and wob. As a Master at 40 you could still throw the 56 if you wanted or drop down to the 42.
Get out and throw and if possible throw with others or video yourself so you can compare against other throwers. Have fun Al |
