Announcing the new site and new arrangements for the Heart of Tennessee Highland Games, Oct 2.

Previously held on the campus at MTSU in Murfreesboro, the games have moved to a great new site at the Rennaissance Festival grounds in Triune, TN about 30 miles south of Nashville.

Athletics will be housed in the amphitheatre, with surround seating for the typically large and appreciative crowds. Equipment and cabers will be supplied by Kay Cummings and crew, and food will be provided.

Clan Irwin will present the Athlete of the Day award, and medals will be given for three places in both A and B class. Also, the "Home of the Heavy Hammer" award will be resuscitated this year for the best throw with the 22, courtesy of Clan Durso.

The RenFest site is about five hours from Springfield, same for St. Louis and Cincinnati, four from Atlanta, three from Knoxville, two from Huntsville and thirty minutes from my house.

Judges will be Ross Morrison in the A class, Donna MacNeally for the B class. If there is enough interest, a Clan Challenge will be held for novices in four events--stone, lite wfd, caber and wob.

We will pipe the caber on the field for the A class comp and yours truly will do running commentary on the PA system during the events.

I look forward to seeing a fine turnout from the midwest, midsouth and wherever. Y'all come back now, heah?

Try our website: www.hotsc.com.

There was some confusion on the entry fee; it is $10 American.

Is that the castle between Franklin and Murfreesboro off 840?

I may have to make a pilgrimmage back to homeland if my schedule allows.

hello cabertosser--yes there is a host hotel, and it is the doubletree in murfreesboro, where the games used to be held. next year we will transition out of that one. i think the rate is 69.

however you may want to stay in franklin, which is more directly on your route from the frozen north. budgetel, holiday inn, best western and all manner of hotels are at exit 65 on I-65/hiway 96.

call me with questions 6125 456 5852

i have you in the A class, come on down.

I am going to compete in my 4th game in Montgomery AL on the 25th,

and would like to come to Murfreesboro if at all possible.

I'm wondering the same thing as willy. Is it too late to sign up for the B class?

It's pretty close to home so I was hoping I could still get in.

Thanks,

Scott

Old Plaid,

I keep getting "the number is not in service" message.

Is there another way I can contact you to try and get into the b's?

Thanks,

Scott
