I was wondering if anyone could tell me which squat they think is better, the zercher squat or back squat?

The reason I am asking, is that I have my throwers currently doing ZS for the indoor season.  I just wanted to try it out and see where it takes us.  I would like to do more than one type of squat, but with the small amount of time we are given in the weight room(M and W for 1hr), it just isn't possible.  Their throws are fairly decent this year, with a few school records broken, and just a few more just one solid throw away.

I was thinking about switching back to back squats for outdoor, but something makes me want to stay with the ZS.  Anybody have any insight?

Thanks.  That was one idea I was toying with, but wasn't too sure about.

When I write the workouts for them, I have them do certain percentages for reps each week, still working to maintain their strength three weeks out from the time I want them to peak.  Then I drop the amount of weight and decrease their reps to increase their bar speed in time for the conference meet.  So far, that formula has worked every season.
