Ed Cosner came into town to train at UT. We decided to see if we could give each other heart attacks w. old style you go , I go 'till someone dropped. Started w. 3 10 second sprints on this treadmill blocking dummy thing. Moved to safety bar squats 405 x 5 parallel ( a real 5x5 this time Myles). Straight to pushpress releases w. 156 , 5 doubles - clean it up , push/throw as high as possible - round and round. 20lb medball pushpress 3 x3 , scoops 3x3, wallslams 3x3 each side, 10 yard scoops x10, overheads x10. Walking lunges 4 sets of 10 w. 15lb dbells . Plyo boxes 3x3 24"box , 3x3 36" box. 100lb kettlebell bent over rows 3x3 -one in each hand - cheater style(from floor using legs w. big yank at top). Reverse hypers w. 25lb plate 2x10 (so hard hips come up off pad).  3 x10 quad and hammy. Lay down. Finished in an hour. I've got a protein drip going . Get ya some boys.

No curls?

If you don't have time to do it right, when are you going to have time to do it over?

I hear Ed's a notorious curler. Likes to do them at the squat rack...(don't tell him I said that by they way).

The Jimmy legs are when you have to be real careful the place you put your foot each step or you fall down.  Shakydoodle I think is the medical term for it.

I like to curl, and I do it in the rack sometimes.  But I also go over 225.

Love to see the Rooster posting anything.  And clearly from his past a pace expert, ha.

Although if I was training along side a bunch of college chicks I would probably up my volume a little too. That is until the Megan's law kicked in and the cops took me out in handcuffs.

Myles, you don't want me to post my workouts....lot's of self loathing and regrets. Not to mention the shorty shorts......It's not a pretty sight.

I tried to watch the 2007 finals but watching those guys running around made me tired so I turned on the Tila Tequila show. Training is a far off concept for me right now. I haven't done much more than vacuum the gym since last spring.

Even after having a few surgeries I'm not that beat up usually. I don't know how you guys got the idea that i'm this hardcore psycho guy in the gym. I don't make a sound when I workout, I will only train alone when nobody else is around. I just don't really train that hard all the time. I will train fairly hard a few months out of the year and the rest of the time I take it easy. I just always had the ability to pull a few big throws out of my ass now and then.

It was a great workout!!  Nothing like the atmosphere in a high level college weightrooom to get it going!!  But this style of "you go..I go" is nothing new here!  I tend to burn out my training partners to include the young ones!!haha!!  It was a lot of fun to hit it hard..got another one comming on Friday as well! The sleep apena gone...the achilles finally healed....and all the other broken parts on the mend....I'm feeling better today than I did 5 or 6 years ago!!!  This is just our first workout...got a month of driving to Austin (about an hour) planned out...and looking forward to it!!!

Long live the "old guys"

Steve - I guess my brain just says that someone THAT strong has to be a psycho. Good for you to be able to operate like that - if I didn't train constantly , I would look like a basketball player in 6 months  when I retired all I did was hoop and jog for Gawds sakes and went straight to a 240lb chicken neck . I saw a picture of myself and went straight back to the gym - 3 months later , I found this goofy stuff................Coool One - I'm not  a freak , I'm just Gdam lucky. Most my buddies can barely walk, much less play something . It's a BIG issue right now - how the N(not) F(for) L(long) uses up people and tosses 'em in the street. Right now , they're trying to buy us off w. prescription drug cards and cheap crap like that . It WILL get ugly before it's over.................Ed - I'm not really sore , but I'm pretty wiped out - see ya next Thursday!

That interview with Conrad Dobler on HBO's Real Sports was almost tough to watch.

Cheers,

Carlos - considering suicide because of pain/financial ruin is horrible. And there are many stories like his. These guys aren't bums - they can't work, can't get insurance and blow their savings/retirement on medical bills and live w. pain all day everyday. Poor bastards  I have 44 year old buddie who's had both hips, a knee, spinal fusion and wrist to do soon. He has lots of $$$ , but who cares ?
