I have an 18' hollow steel light pole thats about 110#'s. Any reason I shouldn't practice w/ this till I bend it? I'm wondering if the oversized implement principle applies here as well. thanks |

Naw - that's about the size of an A caber - quote "What do you do if you want to throw bigger cabers " answer - "THROW BIGGER CABERS!".......I usually keep a monster and a smaller caber for practice. Over sized works here.

Merl lawless from ancient athletics has a MONSTER steel caber. I think they have a pictures of Myles attempting to turn it at the 2000 or 2001 shamrock games... BIG Stick Wish I had one... but I don't I have always believed in what Frank "buffalo" Stasa taught me. "Find a light (65#) and long (23-24') stick. This will train you to pull early" I have never forgotten that and some of the best advise I can give. He said "if you can turn a light 24' caber you can turn a heavier/shorter stick" I think caber is my best event and I thank Frank Stasa for that.. I also thank Doug stieger to carry my caber HIGH and elbows in. again great advise..
