Will training with implements that are over competition weight throw of timing or technique in any meaningful way?  All my training stuff is home made, and I don't have enough real games experience to know this for myself.  For example, will practice with a 20lb sheaf bollix up your technique for a 16lb sheaf, or is it negligible; or an 21lb open stone instead of a 16lb, etc.

I did a search to see if this had been covered before, but keywords like "weight" and "heavy" are surprisingly common on this forum.   Odd...
