Been training like crazy. Lots of throwing. Felt good going into first games on the season. The WHAM!! Today just destroyed me. Was very apparent I am not in "games" shape. What do you guys do to keep yourself from getting drained throughout the marathon of a day that is the highland games? Before games training? Pre-game prep? During games? Nutrition?
Thanks!!! TROB

I don't think much can prepare you for a long day of standing in the sun and throwing stuff, other than perhaps a job which requires you to do something similar. 2-3hr training sessions here and there before the season helps, but 8hrs in the sun takes getting used to. Fuel up before arriving, bring shade, fluids, more fuel, and sit down for a break when you can.
