Right in my backyard. Greenville S.C. is a lot bigger than it looks on the map. Maps show only a city of 58,000. But, about 1,000,000 in the surrounding area. Beautiful downtown. Lots of places to eat and drink. Gonna be great.

Hey Everyone!!

Word's already gotten out, but here's a little more info....

2012 Masters World Championship will be held in Greenville, SC - USA on May 26th, 2012 at Beautiful Furman University.

We have one of the most beautiful Venues available with the Blue Ridge Mountains as a Backdrop.

We have a wonderful Parade and Ceilidh in downtown Greenville on Friday night with Albannoch as the Headliner Band for the Games performing downtown. We're organizing a Meet and Greet for the Masters Athletes on Friday Night to coincide with the Parade and Ceilidh.

We will be contesting all 9 Events, so get your sheaf forks ready!!!

Registration will open soon on http://www.scottishmasters.org/

And we'll have our Greenville Web Site updated very soon as well to offer more information on Hotels and surrounding area. http://www.greenvillegames.org/

Looking forward to seeing everyone there

If it's an international comp, it should be stand only in the interest of fairness.

Per NASGA Rules:

Tossing the Weight for Height

Standard Weight: Men
Women
Master
56 lbs.
28 lbs.
42 lbs. or 56 lbs.

The weight will be thrown with one hand only. The weight shall be made of metal but can be of various shapes and sizes including spherical, bullet or box shaped. The handle can either be attached directly to the weight or attached with a length chain. The handle may also be of various shapes and thickness such as a ring, triangle or a "D" shape. The total weight of each implement shall be 28 lb., 42 lbs. and 56 lbs. The women shall throw a 28 lb. weight and the men shall throw a 56 lb. weight. If there is a master's class they may throw a 42 lb. weight instead of a 56 lb. weight. The implement shall not measure more than 18" in overall length but a weight shorter than this is normally used when thrown for height to avoid hitting the ground when swung between the legs. Any throwing style may be used as long as the rules are followed and the style is deemed safe by the judge.

It's called Weight for Height.....not "Standing Weight for Height".

We followed "International Rules" when we competed outside the US recently. International Competitors can follow US Rules when they compete here. Nothing out of the ordinary here.

I remember MWC 2003 Craig Smith told us all in the parking lot to quit
sniveling about the Sheaf(we didn't sheaf in Calif then) because that's what
we do here so shut up about it. Were suppose to do whatever that particular
games has to offer as I understand it, so as Craig says shut up about it.
Sorry Craig your words not mine, it's all in fun. AD makes a fair point,
However I remember there was allot of whining about the trigs in Inverness
by the US guys and they changed the trigs.

Lol, I would never use such harsh language

I must be getting soft as I near retirement.

I never said it was against the rules, I just said in the interest of fairness

Nothing fair when it comes to love and War Craig, Your supposed to become
more of a curmudgeon as you get older. Soft means flaccid in Masters speak.
