....how do you breathe while doing this? Shoot I was super light compared to what some of you are doing...but I felt like my chest was being collapsed trying to do sets of 6. I like these at the moment...I feel absolutely no stress on my knees for some reason. As soon as I am comfortable leaning back on heels a bit more I may feel no stress on my lower back either. |

I suppose someone has got to say it....
....don't be a pussy.
lol, seriously, i just breathe like i would on any other exercise. And six reps is PLENTY, no need to do more in that lift ever imo. |

Why is Craig the CooolOne so coool ? Is it BIG lifts ? BIG throws ? Hot new wife who likes to lift ? Scary tats ? Can make fun of Myles and live ? "cutting edge" hairstyles ? naaagh.......it's perfect comedy timing that gets my vote !   ; ;   ; ;   ; ;   ; ;   ; ; buffy - when you get done being a pussy ;-) try this - Zercher jump squats - start light (135)- will make your core squeal - I tend to do a couple sets as fast 4-6 finishers after main lift. GET OFF THE GROUND as fast as possible and BACK UP........try to breathe IN as you lower a weight and slowly OUT the mouth as you pressout/lift/raise. & ;nbs p;

I noticed zerchers being mentioned in the thread : Finally started down road to DL goal. After checking into them I'm pretty interested. I tried some light ones on a leg day to get a feel for it. Seems like a unique lift, but I was wondering what the specific advantages of it were. I was also wondering; if you do these on leg day, do they interfere with a deadlift/back day or vice versa?

I found that they were a boon to my training back in 2005/2006 before I was out of commission for 18+ months. Now that I am on the upswing and back at training the past three months, I found them to be just as beneficial if not more so than before. Zerchers work the legs, glutes, core and lower back. I found that it REALLY helped me learn to counter the weight of the 56wfd as well [weighing in sub 180] |

I usually inhale as much air as possible @ the bottom position before I start the lift than let it out @ the top. Personally, I'd be careful about the Zerchers because they will nag your biceps if you go overboard on them. Other than that they are fun to do. |
