Paul's heart is doing fine.  Cholesterol is great.  Oxygen levels might be a concern at night-time. We'll see about that.  He will be in the hospital a few more days until his blood thinner medication, coumadin (not sure of the spelling), is regulated.  At least now he can walk around.  I took my laptop in yesterday, so he could watch some throwing dvds.  Surprised?

I can't believe I'm going to say this...but...probably the only thing that would make his day (besides his boys, of course) is getting something new to watch or read in the mail.  The 700 videos and dvds we have just won't do. Wink  There...I said it...send dvds...

Thanks for all of your good wishes.  I printed them out and am taking them in today.  Thanks to agm_ for the great advice and info.

Penny

(Electricity in Easton is restored as of yesterday morning. Ha Ha.)

Does Paul have sleep apnea by chance?  I have it, and have used a CPAP machine for 5 years now.  At first it seems very odd to use a machine and a mask to sleep with...but after a couple of weeks you look forward to putting on your "sleeping pill" and wonder how you ever lived without it.  Trying to sleep without it now - like when the airlines lose it or the power is out - is complete misery.

My doctor said that most people with an 18"+ neck have some degree of sleep apnea.  This causes heart issues and affects blood oxygen levels.  He really should look into it...and call me with any questions - 304.268.4008.

Hey Will,

He doesn't want your videos of you and that 310lbs cross-dresser you hooked up with.  That was just nasty.

Our address:

1914 Freemansburg Ave. Easton, PA 18042

Hospital Room phone # 610-250-8522

Thanks, Mike.  I'll tell Paul.  He's never been diagnosed with sleep apnea, but when the Dr. asked me some questions about his sleeping, it sounds like he does.  They'll do a test when he's out of the hospital.

HB, how did you get to 310? That's impressive. Sounds like you've been doing hi-rep squats and eating a lot. Have you seen big jumps in your strength levels? I'm sure it will pay off big time next year, I'd better get back in the gym!

Penny, it seems like a lot of the symptoms are pretty consistent amongst folks who have sleep apnea:  Falling asleep a lot - for me it was usually within 5 minutes of hitting the recliner every time, being tired a lot, snoring loudly, choking/gasping while sleeping, waking up a lot - with me I didn't even know it because I stayed at "phase 1" and the technician said I woke up about every 30 seconds and never got into REM sleep.

I think almost all of the guys who compete should be checked.
