Glasgow Lands Games

  This is as much a short message about a games as a personal thank you to my friends who pulled together a presentation to award Erik Sauve and myself for our recent stone lifting tours.  As most of you know we went to Scotland last year and lifted the Inver Stone, the Dinnie Stones and the Stone of the Fiana.  Then we made our trip to Iceland in May to carry the Husafell Stone.  I want to personally thank Wayne Hill for getting the contributions to purchase the swords and then to take time from a games to present them to us.  I want to also personally thank each and every person who contributed, and I will be sending thank you notes when I get the list of names.  That is why I call all the Heavy athletes "My people".   You guys are the best.  I also want to again put in a special word to Dana Florence, without whom many of us would not be doing Highland Games and who went to Scotland with us and he too lifted the stones with us. 

  Great job with the games Wayne.  You have become the new standard by which games should be run.  As for the results I will leave it to Wayne and others to run down the day.  Thanks again to everyone.
