I have a loading pin that I attached a handle to and I have been doing swings between the legs similar to WOB and I have worked up to 5 reps with 200lbs. These are explosive swings up to shoulder height with my feet on blocks so I start deep. My question is this exercise as effective as a powerclean or am I just wasting my time?

My thought is if I’m moving something heavy with speed that should be good?

Are you using your Rolling Thunder handle? That would be BADASS! Seriously though do you alternate hands? Do you get it swinging until you get to shoulder height to count as a rep? I would think any time somebody gets off their ass and moves heavy stuff around its got to be good. I consider throwing unsplit chunks of firewood or "the big stone" around the pit up here working out. Hows your nephew coming along?

No Not the Rolling Thunder handle, that would be cool I'm using a small handle and a wrist strap. I count each swing as a rep by the second rep I’m at about shoulder height. I am using 25s because it’s not as bulky and cumbersome as a 45...

The kid is doing well his nervous system is starting work and make him more balanced. He still has problems getting down in the squat but I guess that’s normal. It’s hard to remember back before I knew how to squat. I think I’m going to have him start some bench squats so he will be forced to get deeper....still using the PVC pipe for his squats so I don't think he will hurt himself using the bench

Are you staying warm up north?....got to love the fire wood heats ya 3 times!!!
