Youtube can be your best friend when trying to learn the events.  Look up videos of Ryan Vierra, Larry Brock, Dan McKim, Mike Pockoski etc... and then compare what you are doing to what they are doing.  The closer you look to them the better.
 
The only other advice I have, and I am not a great hammer thrower by any means, is to not focus on 3 winds and just work 1 wind to hit your positions and focus on getting longer.  Try and stay relaxed and long and extend the radius of the hammer.

A good drill is 3 reps at 1 spin, 3 reps at 2 spins and 3 reps at 3 spins. Long arms and release high and behind you. You tube Vierra is great advice. Good luck.
