Hello Mr Roadwarrior [No space] this is Road Warrior [With Space]. Didn't know that you had the handle until Chad [Josh R ] informed me. No offense intended and can we peacefully coexsist. When we meet Saturday we can flip a coin to see if I have to change my handle. Hahahaha.

Originally South African discus throwers started throwing the discus facing forward and doing a single turn in the middle. This was different than the rest of the world where they started facing backward and did 1.5 turns out of the back and through the middle. The term Modified South African, which gets misused a lot on this board refers to starting with one foot out of the throwing area to model a more aggressive sprint to the middle. This MSA was used as a drill only, obviously because starting with one foot behind the designated space would be breaking the rule. This is my understanding.

Your right. The drill I beleive was used as a method of working the drive into the circle and working on getting proper rotation in the middle before release. I used to do it all the time when I started out in track and field. I dont do it much now though I should get back into it again as over here full rotation on grass especially this summer has been hit and miss. When I do do a run in at a games it am blocking too much and using the trig enough.
